Inspection is always a trade-off of throughput vs. sensitivity, or accuracy. With human inspection we can define and capture very small defects, but still every so often allow gross defects to escape. With machine vision we can find the gross defects with near perfect certainty of capture, and we can methodically dial the defect sensitivity to a point of diminishing returns.
Additinally throughput is very part/device dependent. The easier it is to get uniform light onto the surface of the part the faster we can process it.
In general the range we see with our customers is 2 cm2/sec to 0.1 cm2/sec
